Our goal at Western States Fire Protection is to raise $6,400 between June 15th and July 15th, 2016. If this goal is met, we will be able to sponsor 4 kids to participate in a future Burn Camp program.

WSFP has over 1,500 employees; if we each donate $5 we will easily surpass this goal amount. Every dollar helps and is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your support!  

 The Children’s Hospital Colorado Burn Camps Program (CHCBC) is a specialty camp with a highly trained medical team that serves burn survivors 8-24 years of age and their families as an additional form of rehabilitation. They offer a suite of programs to meet burn survivor needs: summer camp, winter camp, family camp and a young adult retreat. In 2015, they served 130 burn survivors from all over the country. 

 The mission of the program is to improve the lives of burn-injured children through the use of enriched curriculum and a path of adventure in a safe, nurturing environment.   To heal, both children and their families need an opportunity to connect with other survivors in a supportive environment where they are encouraged to challenge themselves and create a productive life.

 Over the last 33 years, through partnerships with 9 hospitals nationwide, the CHCBC program has connected survivors within a camp setting.  Their intentional and focused program addresses each child’s goals while working collaboratively with families and referring burn units. Each child receives a specific growth plan tailored to their individual needs as CHCBC recognizes campers need different support at the various developmental stages of their life.

 Because families are often financially burdened by the medical costs of their child's immediate and on-going medical care, this extended rehabilitative camp experience is offered at no cost to the families. The lives of these children are forever changed as they continue to heal beyond the walls and limitations of the hospital setting. Through the camp experience, the trauma of a burn injury is balanced by the hope that is instilled by the camp program.
