After 10 years of infertility, Chase’s parents were overjoyed to learn they were expecting a baby boy. But their happiness soon turned to fear when Chase’s mother went into labor two months early. At his birth, doctors had to resuscitate Chase for 13 agonizing minutes, and he spent the next three months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. With a long list of medical complications ranging from Hydrocephalus to partial blindness, Chase regularly makes the 6-hour trip from his hometown near Durango to Children’s Colorado, so he can access the expert pediatric care he requires. Although Chase doesn’t have an official diagnosis, he is treated by a multidisciplinary team of caregivers who are committed to helping him to thrive. Chase’s family describes him as a child full of joy, purpose and love for life.
Chase is incredibly excited to be a 2018 Children's Hospital Ambassador. When asked what it means to him, he will tell you that it is his chance to share his story so other kids will know how to BE BRAVE!
Please support him in his first philanthropic effort to help other kids like him!
