Courage Can Change Everything By Dalton Levine Tuesday, Jun 21 2016 Dalton Courage Is When one approaches a situation with courage, anything is possible. Mark Twain said, â'oeCourage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.â' Itâ'TMs OK to be scared of what is going to happen -- I sure was when I found out I had cancer. But when you apply courage, it gets a lot easier. When I was first diagnosed with Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma, I didn't know what was going to happen. Cancer is so scary, and you never know what will come next. Fortunately, my oncologists at Childrenâ'TMs Hospital Colorado, Dr. Carrye Cost and Dr. Daniel Ridsdale, came up with a plan, and with much support I knew I could get through my treatment. Those who surround you can help, but the rest is up to you. It took a lot of courage to go through three surgeries, more than 20 rounds of chemo, and a Flight for Life where I almost died, but I did it, and I will continue to fight. I will never give up. There are so many hard days, but so many rewarding ones as well. I have learned that you should never take anything for granted and live every day like it could be your last. Itâ'TMs the positive moments and memories that will get you through each day. There will always be something to fight for, and it is incredible what you can achieve when you have courage. Courage to me is looking at what is presented to you, no matter the difficulty, and attacking it head on.
