I am participating in the Courage Classic bicycle tour in July to raise money for the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect.
Last year, over 13,000 substantiated cases of child abuse and neglect were reported in Colorado, that's over 1,000 a month! You've heard the heart-breaking stories and I'm sure have wondered how you can make a difference. Kempe is making a difference through several prevention and treatment programs developed over our 47 year history.
The Child Protection Team at Children's Hospital provides diagnostic and clinical support to begin the process of healing children who have been abused and neglected. We train every Caseworker in every county in Colorado through the Child Welfare Training System. Through the Fostering Healthy Futures program, we provide mentoring and group-based skills training to promote healthy youth development for children in out-of-home care. Preventing child maltreatment and helping children and families who need help is a team effort. Even though our team strong, this problem is the largest single public health issue affecting children.
Our Kempe team goal is to raise $50,000 so we can continue developing, enhancing and implementing child maltreatment programs that benefit children and families in need. Your donation will help children in Colorado thrive and every little bit will help!
Thanks in advance for your generous support!
