I am riding the Courage Classic again this year in support of the Liver Transplant and Kidney Transplant programs at Children's Hospital Colorado. Last year was the first time I had ridden in quite sometime and I just wanted to participate. This year I have thought more about why I want to ride and have decided to ride for the parents of children who seek care at Children's Hospital Colorado. As a new parent I have a new understanding of what parents go through when their kids are sick.
I am privileged to play an active role in both the Liver and Kidney Transplant programs at Children's Hospital Colorado. These two teams are often able to provide care leading to successful kidney and liver transplants, and quite literally, give parents back their children as they may have known them before they became sick. The strength these parents exihibit is inspiring and is why I ride this year. Thinking of the challenges these parents face will most certainly help me acheive the miniscule challenge of climbing Vail Pass.
Your support for the Courage Classic and Children's Hospital Colorado will help the Liver and Kidney Transplant programs, as well as the many other programs, continue to provide care for many children, their parents and families.
