Greetings friends and family.
2021 will be the 17th year that I have supported Children's Hospital through the Courage Classic event! The first I heard of this event was probably through Village Idiots cycling team founders John and Lesia Rehl. Later, a group of cyclists that have become the Second Wind team became my riding and training buddies, so that I rode the 2013 Courage Classic and supported the other team members all the years I wasn't riding.
This year will end a string of absences for me as I rejoin my team as a fundraising volunteer. The Courage Classic is a huge fundraiser for Children's and a major annual Colorado event, getting back to riding from Copper Mountain again after a virtual year.
As the years pass, I have encountered friends and riders who have positive direct experiences with Children's, for example the Baker family. I added Dr Caleb Baker's photo at age 11 after his recovery from a brain tumor that was discovered when he was 8. The photo was provided along with a generous donation from his dad - Thanks Randy! We can keep those positive experiences going with the support that is needed through this event.
The Courage Classic is scheduled for July 17. Every little bit helps!
