On July 17th Pudgy Pete will attempt the in-person (thank goodness!) Courage Classic Fundraising Ride for Children’s Hospital Colorado. It will be Pudgy’s 22nd year.
As the dollars raised get bigger, so does Pudgy Pete. How does he manage to do this year after year? The answers are increasingly creative training and heartfelt motivation.
This year’s training protocol is, well, peculiar. With the aberrant year of 2020 behind us, Pudgy has decided to enlist the help of a professional. Some feel this is giving an unfair advantage to Pudgy, some find it plain dodgy. Enticing Gracie (Pudgy's dog) to pull him around the neighborhood! Time will tell if it improves his performance.
Don’t worry; it’s not all work for Gracie the Trainer - she eventually gets the ball (or three)!
As for motivation, it’s simple. As in years past, Pudgy will continue to support three brilliant young investigators by giving them resources and time to pursue cutting-edge research. This year’s investigators are in pulmonary, surgery, and diabetes. Supporting these brilliant young minds dedicated to fixing our sick kids is why Pudgy rides year after year: What could be a more potent motivator?
So please consider sponsoring this massive man on his quest; he needs all the help he can get this year. COVID has derailed all of our lives, but the kids at Children’s Colorado are still sick and need our help.
You can donate online or by sending a check made out to Children's Hospital Colorado to Shea Properties new address 8351 E. Belleview Ave. Denver, CO 80237 (Attn: Peter Culshaw)
Thank you for your support. It means so much to so many!
